Bandits have on Wednesday attacked two villages in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara, killing some people.   bandits attacked a mining site at Kuru-kuru village and also ambushed some people from the neighbouring Jarkuka village as they mobilised to bring help to Kuru-kuru. A witness, Sadi Musa, said scores of people were killed at the mining site on Wednesday evening which forced the miners to flee for safety. Mr Musa said when residents from the nearby Jarkuka came later to join the Kuru-kuru survivors in burying the dead, the gunmen attacked again, and killed more people.

Osinbajo, Magu, Oyo-Ita to be invited by Rep panel

A House of Representatives panel investigating the alleged violation of public trust in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has announced that it will invite the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, who doubles as the board chairman of NEMA over the suspension of six of its directors. During a public hearing Thursday by the house committee on emergency and disaster preparedness, the committee also decided to summon Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Winifred Oyo-Ita, head of civil service. The governing council of NEMA, inaugurated on April 3, on the same day suspended six directors of the agency, who were said to have kicked against the way the NEMA DG was implementing contracts.

The history of trade unionism can be traced to the struggles of the English workers. This workforce was made up of peasants who irrespective of their inputs to the English economy, had their lands coldly taken away from them. Not just that, they were forced to work for long hours usually between 12-18 hours daily under poor conditions in the factories and mines in return for low wages. This was around the historical 18th-century industrial revolution in  Britain . It was this struggle that birthed the earliest trade unions. But as expected, they were declared illegal and heavily subdued, but were later granted recognition by the government. What is trade union? CCTV footage of offa robbery emerges, shows gunmen

The alleged Closed-Circuit Television footage of the Offa bank robbery has surfaced. The four-minute video, which went viral on the Internet on Wednesday, revealed the moment the robbers attacked one of the five affected banks.The gunmen had neutralised the security post with what appeared like grenades before entering the bank and operating unfettered.It  had been reported that on Thursday, April 5, armed robbers invaded five banks in Offa, Kwara State, killing scores of residents, including policemen, bank workers and passersby. The assailants were said to have carted away millions of naira as they robbed the banks for about one hour without any challenge from security agents.The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ado Lawan, who put the casualty figure at 17, said nine policemen died during the attack. It was an atmosphere of panicking for observers who witnessed an assault on a man by operatives of the  Special Anti-Robbery Squad  (SARS) in Ogba, Ikeja. MPN Women leader reports party chairman to police for sexual assault

The Women Leader of the Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) in Ekiti State, Oluyemi Ojaomo, has filed a police report against the party chairman in the state, Oludare Adekolu, for alleged sexual assault and threat to life.
