Happy Endings Refugee who's picture went viral, earns $15,000 and counting

More than $17,000 has been raised in just three hours to support a Syrian refugee pictured selling pens in Beirut , Lebanon, while carrying his sleeping daughter. In the heartbreaking images, the man offers out a handful of pens, clutching a plastic bag of more pens while his little daughter sleeps wrapped over his shoulder. The photos of the father and child went viral after they were posted two days ago on Twitter by activist, Gissur Simonarson . He was then inundated with requests to help the man and so Gissur , based in Norway , announced he was going to try to find him. He launched a Twitter account named #BuyPens and within 30 minutes, someone on Twitter contacted Gissur saying he saw the man every day around his house. Incredibly, twenty-four hours later the man and his daughter were identified as single dad-of-two, Abdul and his daughter, Reem , 4 and a half. Janus Friis Skype's founder sues ex-fiancee over $471,000 engagement ring

Skype co-founder , Janus Friis , claims he got the picture when he found out his fiancee allegedly cheated on him, and now he's suing to get his expensive engagement ring back. According to TMZ , Janus Friis claims in a new lawsuit, he got engaged to  Maria Louise Joenson, a Danish recording artist who goes by Aura Dione , back in 2013. As a symbol of his love, he gave her a $471,000 engagement ring , an apartment and cash, but claims there were strings attached to the gifts, they had to seal the deal. Friis claims he learned she had "multiple affairs and sexual encounters with other men" and broke off the engagement. So now he wants his ring back, and Friis wants a minimum of $1 million.

Hip-hop mogul to release new album August 1, says Ice Cube

Rapper Ice Cube has disclosed that Dr Dre ’s plans to release a new album on August 1. In an interview with Philadelphia’s Power 99 radio station, Ice Cube spoke at length about Dre’s upcoming NWA biopic film Straight Outta Compton and made it clear that the new music from Dr. Dre was inspired by the film about his former hip hop group. "Actually Dre is dropping an album inspired by Compton," Ice Cube told the audience. "He’s dropping something on August 1st. It’s mega. It’s Dr Dre. It’s what everyone’s been waiting for. It’s definitely a dope record. And he’s dropping it all on the same day. It’s crazy." Shelling in kills four civilians, soldier

Ukrainian forces and pro- Russian separatists accused each other on Thursday of shelling civilian areas near the rebel-held city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine despite a ceasefire, with four civilians and one soldier killed. A Ukrainian military spokesman told a news briefing that two men were killed in Dzerzhynsk, north of the regional hub, when separatists opened fire from Horlivka, 7.5 km (4.7 miles) away. The state prosecutor said one Ukrainian serviceman was also killed in the attack. Separatists, in turn, accused Ukrainians of using tanks and artillery in an overnight attack on Horlivka in which a man and a woman were killed. The casualty reports could not be independently verified. More than 6,500 people have been killed since the fighting broke out in April last year. Attacks have lessened since a peace agreement was brokered in Minsk, Belarus, in February, but both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

Governor heads to court over fake N90bn assets report [PHOTOS]

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has filed a case in a state High Court to challenge a news report which accused him of declaring assets worth N90billion.  The Union Newspapers had reported that El-Rufai made the declaration of assets at the Code of Conduct Bureau. The governor filed the lawsuit personally on Monday, July 27, 2015, and was accompanied by his deputy, Bala Bantex and his lawyers.
