The debate about whether it was legal for the Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose’s account to be blocked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is not going to end anytime soon.

A lawyer, John Oloyede has called on the EFCC to publish the court order they used to effect the freezing of Fayose’s Zenith bank account.
Oloyede said this while speaking as a guest on a Channels TV program, Sunrise Daily.
The Ekiti Governor’s bank account was blocked by the EFCC on Monday, June 20, 2016.
The EFCC also claimed that funds in the Governor’s accounts were linked to the arms purchase scandal involving the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
A Professor of Law, Frank Asogwa at the Enugu state University of Science and Technology (ESUT) also said the EFCC has the power to freeze the Governor’s account.
