Buhari White House releases readout of Trump's discussion with President

The White House has released the readout of the discussion between President Trump and President Buhari.

The readout was issued by the Office of the Press Secretary at the White House and posted on its official website.
It reads:
“President Donald J. Trump spoke this week with President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria to discuss the strong cooperation between the United States and Nigeria, including on shared security, economic, and governance priorities. 
“President Trump underscored the importance the United States places on its relationship with Nigeria, and he expressed interest in working with President Buhari to expand the strong partnership.  The leaders agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria and worldwide.
“ President Trump expressed support for the sale of aircraft from the United States to support Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram. 
“President Trump thanked President Buhari for the leadership he has exercised in the region and emphasized the importance of a strong, secure, and prosperous Nigeria that continues to lead in the region and in international forums. “
President Donald Trump called President Buhari on Monday, February 13, 2017.

Patience Jonathan was arrogant as first lady –Ex-US ambassador

A former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, has described former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife, Patience, as being arrogant and flamboyant when she was Nigeria’s first lady. In a piece he wrote on Friday, ‘Nigerian President Buhari’s Sisyphean Efforts’, and posted on Council on Foreign Relations’ website, Campbell also wondered how Jonathan’s wife became wealthy having spent most of her life as a civil servant The ex-US envoy stated, “Patience Jonathan as the first lady was flamboyant, arrogant, and widely disliked. N5.6bn corruption case: Permission to arraign former Abia state gov, Orji Kalu. Court grants EFCC

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, permission to arraign former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu on May 16 over allegations of misappropriation of N5.6 billion while he was governor of the state. According to Vanguard, EFCC in its charges filed against Kalu in 2008, alleged that he was involved in money laundering and illegal diversion of public funds to the tune of N5.6billion. The fraud was allegedly perpetuated while Kalu was governor of Abia State between 1999 and 2007. Kalu was first arraigned in 2007 but his trial has been stalled over the years following court cases instituted by him, challenging the charges leveled against him by EFCC. The Supreme court on March 18th dismissed Kalu's appeal challenging the EFCC. On May 16th, he will enter fresh plea to an amended 112-count charge dated ‎February 11, 2008.
