Buhari White House releases readout of Trump's discussion with President

The White House has released the readout of the discussion between President Trump and President Buhari. The readout was issued by the Office of the Press Secretary at the White House and posted on its official website. It reads: “President Donald J. Trump spoke this week with President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria to discuss the strong cooperation between the United States and Nigeria, including on shared security, economic, and governance priorities.  “President Trump underscored the importance the United States places on its relationship with Nigeria, and he expressed interest in working with President Buhari to expand the strong partnership.  The leaders agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria and worldwide. “ President Trump expressed support for the sale of aircraft from the United States to support Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram.  “President Trump thanked President Buhari for the leadership h...

Buhari President in a meeting with Saraki, Dogara in London (PHOTOS)

President  Muhammadu Buhari  is reportedly in a meeting with the Senate President,  Bukola Sarak i and Speaker Yakubu Dogara in London. According to The Cable, the meeting is currently holding at the Abuja House  in London.The senate leader,  Ahmed Lawan  is also said to be in attendance. The report said the lawmakers arrived at the residence around 8pm.However, it was gathered that the deputy speaker,  Yusuf Lasun , who was scheduled to be at the meeting was absent. Last week, national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju  Bola Tinubu  and Chief  Bisi Akande  also paid a visit to the President, who is being in the UK on a medical vacation since January 19.

Ibrahim Idris IG says FG has approved recruitment of 10,000 policemen every year

Idris said the move will help the police force combat crime, adding that it will also boost its numerical strength. The Federal Government has approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen every year. Travel Warning U.S Department of State issues new directive to citizens in Nigeria

American citizens have been advised to avoid Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Rivers, Plateau, Kano and Yobe among other states. The United States Department of State has issued a new directive warning its citizens of the security risks inherent in travelling to and within Nigeria. The warning dated  9th February 2017 , recommends that US citizens should avoid all but essential travel to  Adamawa , Bauchi ,  Borno ,  Gombe ,  Kano , and  Yobe , due to the unpredictable security situation in the North-East. This follows a security warning issued by the US embassy on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 , advising citizens and officials to show extra consideration for their personal safety and security as they travel within Nigeria.
