The bill for a law for Pension Right of the Governor and deputy has been amended by the Edo state house of Assembly The law make provision for residential retirement buildings of 200m and  100m for ex governor and deputy at any siting of their choice. Which the immediate past governor Adams Oshiomhole and his deputy are part of the beneficieries.

Former Abia Governor Orji Uzor Kalu Defects to APC Amidst N3.2bn Fraud Case

Kalu was received at the APC National Headquarters, Abuja, by the party’s National Chairman,  John Odige-Oyegun  and members of the National Working Committee (NWC). The former governor,   who was recently re-arraigned by the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  on an amended 34-count charge for N3.2bn fraud , said that his defection to the APC was made possible by the persistence of some of the party’s chieftains who had been wooing him for some times.

These were tough, disciplined, hardened, surprisingly well-educated and intimidating men. “This was a frightful place and those that were locked up there were very dangerous and frightful people yet thankfully the Lord went ahead of me. “The single cells, though small, were clean, self-contained, well-ventilated, dry and very neat. The judge fixed November 17 as the date to hear the bail applications filed by counsel to all the defendants. The Federal Government on Tuesday in Abuja re-arraigned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on an amended 11-count bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony and publication of defamatory matter. Kanu, along with  Chidiebere Onwudiwe ,  Benjamin Madubugwu  and  David Nwawuisi , were re-arraigned before  Justice Binta Nyako  of the Federal High Court, Abuja and they pleaded not guilty to the amended charges. AMCON Takes Over Afrijet over N10bn Debt | Says About 400 Debtors owe Over N4.5tn

The  Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) , on Friday, took over the assets of Afrijet Airlines Ltd.  owned by Vitalis Ibe , over an unpaid debt of almost N10 billion. This is contained in a statement issued by  Jude Nwauzor , Head, Corporate Communications, AMCON, which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Lagos. The statement said the takeover was based on an interim injunction granted against the airline by  J ustice Chuka Obiozor  of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division. It said, “the obligor owes AMCON nearly N10 billion. AMCON purchased the Eligible Bank Assets (EBAs), sometime in 2011 from the defunct  FinBank  and Bank PHB . The order also affects Ibe’s Continental Aviation Services Ltd., AMCON has since appointed  Professor Gbolahan Elias  (SAN), as Receiver/Manager. “ The statement also said the receiver/manager at about 11AM on Friday simultaneously took possession of the assets of Ibe including  Afrijet Plaza , the corporate head offi

This is coming after Sheriff accused the caretaker committee chairman of hiring Fulani herdsmen to stop him from entering the PDP secretariat. The chairman of the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee,  Ahmed Makarfi  has accused the embattled party chairman,  Ali Modu Sheriff  of creating  Boko Haram. Makarfi said Sheriff is known everywhere as a violent person, that is why the police withdrew his orderlies. The singer, who is preparing for a concert in London, accused bloggers of not confirming the truth in their reports before disseminating them. Nigerian dancehall singer, Burna Boy, has taken a shot at Nigerian bloggers, referring to them as dummies in connection to reports on his baby mama saga. This was contained in an  Instagram  post on Friday, June 24, 2016. According to the singer, the bloggers who reported the story of his alleged baby mama,  Uju Stella , played themselves by not confirming if the story was true The post also included what looked like a pregnancy result posted from the account of Stella. Another comment in the Instagram screenshot, saw a post by Instablo9ja , confirming that Stella had lied about the pregnancy. Fayose Lawyer asks EFCC to present court order for freezing Governor’s account

Oloyede said this while speaking as a guest on a Channels TV program, Sunrise Daily. The debate about whether it was legal for the Ekiti state Governor,  Ayo Fayose’s  account to be blocked by the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  is not going to end anytime soon. A lawyer,  John Oloyede  has called on the EFCC to publish the court order they used to effect the freezing of Fayose’s  Zenith bank  account. Oloyede said this while speaking as a guest on a  Channels TV  program,  Sunrise Daily. The Ekiti Governor’s bank account was blocked by the EFCC on Monday, June 20, 2016. The EFCC also claimed that funds in the Governor’s accounts were linked to the arms purchase scandal involving the former National Security Adviser (NSA),  Sambo Dasuki. A Professor of Law,  Frank Asogwa  at the  Enugu state University of Science and Technology (ESUT)  also  said the EFCC has the power to freeze the Governor’s account.

The Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) chairman, Comrade Oladipo, said the suspension of the strike will give room for more consultation. Ekiti state workers have called of their strike and entered into an agreement with the state government. Speaking to newsmen, the   Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) chairman,  Comrade Oladipo,  said the suspension of the strike will give room for more consultation.
